Countdown to Super Soccer Saturday

We are only two weeks from Super Soccer Saturday (September 13), our biggest event of the year. (Can you feel the excitement? Go Tigers!) Our opponent this year is the Richfield Spartans, and each of our teams will play a game in the SHS Stadium.

Super Soccer Saturday Schedule

Super Soccer Saturday kicks off on Friday the 12th, with the all-teams potluck pasta party at 6 pm at Corcoran Park. Stay tuned for more information! The game day schedule is below:

Boys B-Squad: 9 am

Girls JV: 11 am

Boys JV: 1 pm

Girls Varsity: 3 pm

Boys Varsity: 5 pm

Seniors will also be honored during the event. The recognition ceremony for senior girls is at 2:30 and for senior boys at 4:30. Parents are invited to come onto the field with their players during the senior recognition ceremonies.

How you can help

  1. Please encourage your player to update their player information (name, jersey number, position) in TeamSnap . We use this information to create the team rosters for the event program.
  2. It takes a lot to make this event happen and there is still lots to be done! Only 8 of 73 volunteer slots have been filled so far . There are volunteer opportunities to fit every interest and personality type, including helping with setting up, taking photos during games and senior recognition ceremonies, working the ticket booth, serving concessions, grilling burgers, announcing games, and more. Please SIGN UP for a volunteer shift on Saturday, September 13 or to drop off beverage donations on September 12! We can’t make this event happen without everyone’s help.
  3. You can also help before the event by recruiting season sponsors . The Booster Club is actively recruiting program sponsors for the year. If you are a business owner or know a business that might be interested, please email soccershsboosterclub@gmail.com .

Huge thank you to the businesses that have already agreed to sponsor the 2025 soccer season!

We are more than halfway to our fundraising goal — help us get all the way!

Our Schoolfundr fundraiser launched last week and we are more than halfway to our goal of raising $8,000 for South Soccer. Thank you to everyone who has already gotten the word out!

We still have about two weeks left to go and we need every player to share information about the fundraiser with family, friends, coworkers and neighbors. You or your player can promote the fundraiser on social media, by email or by text. Many players have set up their own pages on Schoolfundr and can share those links. You can also share the link to the general South High School Soccer Program Schoolfundr page: https://app.schoolfundr.org/fund/souths-soccer-2025

Get your Tigers Soccer merch from the new team store

We have a new partnership with local business St. Mane Sporting Goods this year for Tigers merchandise. Check out the online team store for long- and short-sleeved tees, hoodies, and warm-up jackets. Turnaround time should be much quicker than in the past!

New players will get a free quarter zip warm-up from the Boosters, but everyone — players and fans — is welcome to order from the team store.

Buy your SHS soccer merch here!

Cheer on your Tigers at this week’s games

The Tigers had a great week! The Girls Varsity team tied Bloomington Kennedy (4-4) in their first game of the season and won against Como Park (4-3). Boys Varsity won against both Cristo Rey (5-4) and Hiawatha Collegiate (1-0). Boys JV won versus Cristo Rey and lost against Hiawatha Collegiate. It’ll be another exciting week ahead so get out an enjoy those games!

Can’t make it in person? Varsity home games (and some away games) are being live-streamed through Hudl . Girls’ games . Boys’ games .
